Accessing eResources

All Canberra Health Services and ACT Health Directorate staff, including students on placement, can access the Library’s full range of eResources onsite and remotely (e.g. from home). This includes access to the Library’s complete collection of online journals and articles, eBooks, databases and point of care products.

Onsite Access

Full access to the Library’s eResources is automatically available on all ACT Government and personal devices (desktops, laptops, mobile devices) connected to the staff-only ACT Government network.

See the following instructions for connecting a personal device to the staff-only "ACTGOV ONE Wireless" network.

On a personal iPad or iPhone:

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Wi-Fi
  3. Select ONE Wi-Fi network
  4. Enter your ACT Government username and password
  5. Select Trust for certificate when prompted

On a personal Android mobile device:

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Network & Internet
  3. Select ONE Wi-Fi network
  4. Use the following settings:
    • EAP Method: PEAP
    • Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
    • CA Certificate: Use system default
    • Domain: Use act.gov.au
    • Identity: Your ACT Government email address (firstname.lastname@act.gov.au)
    • Password: Your ACT Government password
    • Show Advanced Options: ticked
    • Proxy: None
    • IP Settings: DHCP
  5. Select Connect

Remote Access

To access eResources outside the ACT Government network e.g. using a personal device at home or while connected to the "HEALTHfree" Wi-Fi network:

You will be prompted to login once per active browser session to access subscribed products. Freely available non-subscription products will not require you to login to access.

eResource User Guides

The Library’s eResource User Guides provide information about individual eResources, training materials (where available), mobile app installation and troubleshooting instructions, and other useful information.

Library Account

Library Account is not required to access eResources. An account is only required to borrow books , place hold requests on physical items, and to access the Library’s Document Supply Service.

For assistance with your ACT Government username and password, please contact Digital, Data and Technology Solutions (Shared Services ICT) on 02 6207 9000. Alternatively, if you are registered for self-service password reset you can reset your password anywhere, anytime.
