Document Supply Service
The Document Supply Service provides clients with requested material not available in the Library’s collections. Published and grey literature can be requested, including journal articles, book and eBook chapters, research reports and conference proceedings.
Level of Service
- Article/Book chapter requests, Standard: 5 business days, Urgent: 2 business days.
- Physical book requests, Standard: 10 business days.
Please note: we source journal articles from within Australia and internationally. It may not be possible to fulfil a request in 2 business days.
Please note: delays may be experienced due to the post.
Eligibility
This service is available to:
- Canberra Health Services (CHS) staff
- ACT Health Directorate (ACTHD) staff
- ANU medical students*
- Students on placement at CHS or ACTHD*.
*Students should obtain material not available through CHS Library from their education provider's library. If the required material is not available through your education provider's library, a copy can be requested through the CHS Library Document Supply Service provided it relates to work being undertaken at CHS or ACTHD.
Fee-paying members are eligible for this service. A cost recovery fee applies.
Requesting an item
Before submitting a request please check Library Search as the item(s) may already be available in the Library's collections.
To submit a request
- Open the Journal Article/ Book Chapter Request form
- Complete the form with available information. If requesting a journal article, alternatively input the DOI or PMID and click Auto fill to auto-complete the remaining fields of the form.
- Read and agree to the copyright declaration
- Click Send Request.
To view a request
- Login to your Library Account
- Click Requests.
To cancel a request
- Login to your Library Account
- Click Requests
- Click Cancel next to relevant requests.
Supply
In most instances requested material will be supplied via email. Where licensing restricts emailing, an alternative copy (usually print) will be provided.
Supply times are dependent on the type of material requested and supplier availability. Non-urgent requests are typically supplied within 4 business days.
Urgent requests
For urgent requests, please select Urgent when completing the request form. Urgent requests are typically supplied within 2 business days.
