Suggest a Resource

The Library has suspended the purchase of new items while we review our Collection Development Policy to better meet client needs. Resources suggested during this time will be added to our wish list.

The Library encourages suggestions for new resources. All recommendations are considered according to the criteria in the Library’s Collection Development Policy and as the Library budget allows. If available, the Library acquires electronic resources in preference to print.

Before recommending an item, please use the Library Search facility to ensure the item is not already held by the Library.

Donations

Donations to the Library are a valued source of material for building and enriching the collections. Donations are of value to the Library if they are:

in good condition
not already held in the physical collection or available to our clients online
current and relevant to Canberra Health Services and ACT Health Directorate staff programs, research and clinical activities.

Donations are accepted on the understanding that they will be assessed in accordance with the following criteria:

donations will be assessed for suitability in line with the Library’s Collection Development Policy
any material considered unsuitable under the policy will not be added to the collection
the donation does not carry undue ownership or access restrictions
processing or housing the donation does not incur any significant cost to the Library
the Library will determine how it handles donations
donors will not be notified of subsequent decisions made regarding donated material
donations will not be returned to the donor.

The Library is unable to accept all offers of donation but may recommend another library or organisation where such items may be placed.

Donors are required to complete and sign a donation form. A Library staff member will then contact you to arrange delivery.
