Description:	This is a hands-on session. During this session, we cover the definition of grey literature and its role in your work/research/information seeking. Learn to find grey literature using specific Google and Google Scholar search techniques to save you time. Time permitting, you may also start your own searching with librarian support. After today’s session, participants will: define and understand the difference between published and grey literature know the different types of grey literature available be able to search for grey literature confidently using Google, Google Scholar, and other recommended grey literature sites.

Description:	LOCATION: *UCH - Group Room 1&2* NOTE: All sessions are offered at both northside and southside locations for all CHS staff. You are welcome to attend sessions at either location, based on the date that suits you. Free parking is available for CHS staff at both locations, use your ID card for staff level entry. Are you wondering about patient experiences and perspectives about their healthcare? Are you interested in staff perspective about their workplace and work practices? Would you like to refresh your skills on how to search databases to find quality information? Learn more about what makes a qualitative paper high quality and how to use the findings to guide your practice? If so, this workshop is for you! This session is suitable for healthcare workers from any clinical background and will focus on qualitative research methods.  This workshop will cover how to:   Formulate a PICo question and design an effective search strategy     Understand how to critically appraise qualitative studies    Interpret results Derive clinical implications from the research and apply to practice. This workshop is a collaboration between the CHS Library and Office of Research and Education. It will be facilitated by a librarian with expertise in systematic literature searching and Rosalyn Stanton, a clinician, researcher and educator. Bringing your own laptop is highly desirable.

Monthly Literature Search - Social Isolation

This month’s literature search explores recent research on social isolation and loneliness among older adults, situating Australian trends and statistics within a global context. The literature explores the relationship between social isolation, health, mental health and overall wellbeing, while also considering the influence of policies, programs, interventions and community-based approaches in addressing these issues.

This new collection provides access to 45 eBooks considered essential to health practitioners, researchers and students. The 2026 Doody’s Core Titles cover medical, nursing, allied health and other specialties.
