About Therapeutic Guidelines
Therapeutic Guidelines, formerly eTG Complete, is a trusted Australian resource offering evidence-based recommendations on a broad range of medical conditions. Developed by a panel of leading experts, these guidelines provide practical and actionable advice on diagnosis, treatment, and management strategies.
How to Access
Therapeutic Guidelines is is available online and through the Therapeutic Guidelines mobile web app.
Always use links on the Library's website to ensure seamless access to resources. When using a personal device, you may be prompted to log in with your work email address and password to verify your affiliation with CHS or HCSD.
Mobile Web App
The Therapeutic Guidelines web app provides convenient access to evidence-based clinical guidelines and therapeutic recommendations, with offline access available for uninterrupted use in areas with unreliable internet.
The web app now offers two convenient ways for you to access content:
- Connect the app to the staff-only 'ACTGOV ONE Wireless' network, or
- Log in with an Access Key
For ongoing access, you only need to use one of these options once every six months.
To install the Therapeutic Guidelines web app:
- Search for ‘Therapeutic Guidelines’ in the App Store or Google Play
- Download the app and follow any standard prompts on your device to complete the installation.
Note: If you are not able to connect to the staff-only 'ACTGOV ONE Wireless' network, refer to the instructions (next tab) for obtaining an Access Key.
To access the web app using the staff-only 'ACTGOV ONE Wireless' network:
- Connect your device to the ACTGOV ONE Wireless network
- Open the Therapeutic Guidelines app
- Check that the content is accessible. It may take several seconds to authenticate and for the Log In and Access Key buttons to disappear
- If you still see the Log In and Access Key buttons on the app homepage:
- Drag down on the screen until you see the reload wheel spin
- You may need to repeat this action several times to refresh the app properly.
Note: You only need an Access Key if you can’t connect to ‘ACTGOV ONE Wireless’.
If you’ve used the Therapeutic Guidelines web app on that network in the last 6 months, you’re already authenticated and won’t see or need an Access Key.
Obtain the Access Key
- Use any Therapeutic Guidelines link on the Library's website to access the site
- Log in if prompted with your work email address and password to verify your affiliation with CHS or ACTHD
- Tap on the profile icon located in the top right of screen

- If the 'Copy access key' option is missing:
- Check you don't already have access (this can occur if you previously accessed while on the ACTGOV ONE Wireless' network.
- If not, then open a new Incognito tab (or alternatively clear your browser cache) and try again from Step 1.
- If the 'Copy access key' option is missing:
- Save your access key somewhere securely, such as the notes app. It is valid for 6 months and reusable on a new device or if the app is reinstalled.

Use Access Key to Login
- Open the Therapeutic Guidelines app on your device
- Tap Access Key
- Paste your copied key into the field and tap Continue
- A confirmation message will appear: Success! Your access key has been set.
To maintain access to the web app, re-authenticate by connecting to the staff-only 'ACTGOV ONE Wireless' network or obtain a new Access Key every 6 months. Note that the Access Key is reusable on new devices or after app reinstallations.
Users can now favourite content and save searches. This data is stored locally on a user’s device. If you clear your browser cache, delete and reinstall the app, or switch devices, this information will be lost.
Updates are released several times a year. View past updates or subscribe for future notifications.
