The BMJ Best Practice app provides convenient access to current clinical guidelines and treatments, and features offline functionality for users with limited internet connectivity.

To install the BMJ Best Practice app:

  1. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play
  2. Open the app and select Log in to BMJ Best Practice
  3. Click Continue and login using your BMJ Profile.

No registration is needed to use the BMJ Best Practice app if your device is connected to the staff-only ACTGOV One Wireless network. Simply download and open the app to verify access automatically via the network.

A BMJ Profile is needed to access the BMJ Best Practice app on devices not connected to the ACTGOV One Wireless network.

  1. Visit BMJ Best Practice
  2. Log in with your work email address and password if prompted
  3. Select Your Profile, then Set up your free user profile
  4. Use your @act.gov.au email address when completing the registration form
  5. Check your inbox for a confirmation email to complete registration.

Verify your CHS or ACTHD affiliation annually to keep your BMJ account active:

  1. Open BMJ Best Practice using any link to this resource on the Library's website
  2. Log in with your work email address and password if prompted
  3. In the main menu, select Your Profile, then Log in with existing profile
  4. Enter your BMJ Profile credentials
  5. Log out when finished.

The BMJ Best Practice app automatically downloads the latest content when connected to the internet, ensuring you have access to up-to-date information even when offline. To check your content is up-to-date:

  1. On the app home screen, tap Settings (cog wheel top right of app)
  2. Select Updates
  3. Tap Check for Updates.
